PPSC Ambassador Project

Are you or your loved ones concerned about the way you are feeling? Are you seeking support from someone who really understands? If you would like to speak to someone who’s “been there” and will listen in a nonjudgmental way, the PPSC Ambassadors are available for you. The Ambassadors are not trained healthcare providers. We are peer supporters who have chosen to share our own experiences with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to help other women with their own personal battles.

Sometimes the thought of talking to your closest family member or even your best friend seems terrifying. What will they think of me — that I am not a good mom? Many moms feel ashamed when experiencing these feelings and end up keeping their thoughts a secret.

YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT and affects everything you do. We don’t want you to ever feel you have to go through this by yourself.

As ambassadors, we have been where you are today and have felt similar feelings in one way or another. We are available to hear you out, understand and not judge you. Our purpose is to engage with women who are recovering and to provide support and guidance to those struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

In addition, we are also available to speak at medical settings or teaching organizations that are interested in our perspective for training enlightenment or educational purposes.

We are volunteers committed to promoting the well-being of perinatal women. This initiative is designed to provide support directly to moms or to the providers and organizations that support maternal mental health.

We are available for:

  1. One-on-one phone support to moms who are currently struggling.
  2. Opportunities to speak on behalf of local organizations or medical settings interested in our perspective.
  3. Available to speak at local support groups interested in discussing our experiences and the recovery process
