Systems Come Together in Support of New and Pregnant Moms

Cross-Systems Training on Perinatal Mood Disorders

The Pennyslvania Perinatal Partnership, the Family Planning Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania & Maternity Care Coalition united to provide training for Cross-Systems issues around Perinatal Depression.

Serena Jacobs, LCSW and I were happy to attend this event held in King of Prussia last Friday. Karen Pollack provided an excellent overview of perinatal depression, and a panel of representatives from varied systems addressed logistical issues involved in getting perinatal women the help they need. Each training participant was provided a Community Collaboration Toolkit that will be very helpful for matching clients to the most appropriate resources.

Communication between all fields that serve families is key to establishing a network to make sure no woman struggles with a perinatal mood disorder without having the help she needs.

Thanks to those who worked hard to organize the training and bring so many professionals together to support mothers and families.
