PPD Risk Higher in Canadian Newcomers

A study (led by PPD advocate Donna Stewart, MD) published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry (Feb 2008) determined that postpartum depression is more prevalent in women who have immigrated to Canada than Canadian-born women.

The study titled “Postpartum Depression Symptoms in Newcomers” highlights the importance of social support interventions.
