Is Difficult Childbirth Related to Postpartum Maternal Outcome in the Early Postpartum Period?

The question of whether negative events related to the childbirth experience is associated with an increase in postpartum depression has been up for debate for some time.

This research showed that adverse events did not significantly predict maternal outcome (depressive symptoms) or infant care at 2-weeks postpartum.
