As reported by the MCH Center for Women’s Mental Health Blog, new studies are shedding light on the use of Ambien (Zolpidem) during pregnancy.

Though some OB’s continue to be comfortable prescribing this during pregnancy, there is now some concern about its association with low birth weight and other adverse pregnancy outcomes.

In the recent study carried out in Taiwan, it was shown that there was a higher probability of adverse outcomes (low birth weight, pre-term delivery, small for gestational age, and cesarean delivery).
