Perinatal OCD, Psychosis, and The Space In-Between, taught by our Director of Clinical Services, Ashlee Adams, MSW, LCSW and Director of Programming and Lead Trainer, Noah Suzuki, MEd. Perinatal OCD is becoming increasingly common in our field. It has distinct characteristics, and it can be incredibly helpful as a clinician to know what to look out for. On a superficial level, presenting features can share overlap with psychosis. Perinatal psychosis is becoming more prevalent in the news and can often cause uncertainty in our clinical work. This training will instill confidence in clinicians to understand the risk profile of this unique diagnosis and necessary action steps to quickly treat this condition. NOW TWO HOURS Learning objectives: 1) Learn to identify subtle symptoms that might be difficult to differentiate between OCD and Psychosis 2) Learn how to respond when a client is terrified by their symptoms in instances that we are not sure ourselves what may be happening clinically 3) Learn how to self-regulate when triggered by scary symptoms and how to reassure client at the same time 4) Where do we turn when we really are not sure about the diagnosis?
